AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A SGX 60 STUMP GRINDER BOB CAT SKID
STEER ATTACHMENT
WHEREAS, one of the many responsibilities Public Works facilitates is tree
removal in City parks, facility grounds and natural areas; and
WHEREAS, once a tree is removed, the best management practice is to grind the
remaining stump as a preventative measure to keep invasive insects or tree diseases
from potentially spreading; and
WHEREAS, $15,000.00 is in the 2024 Storm Water Budget, Fund, 745-4415-7030,
for a stump grinder; and
WHEREAS, Staff has obtained a quote for new SGX 60 Stump Grinder from CPV
approved contractor, Tri-State Bobcat of Little Canada MN, for $10,282.64 including
shipping.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds
View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. Public Works Staff is authorized to purchase one SGX 60 Stump Grinder at a
cost of $10,282.64 including shipping from Tri-State Bobcat of Little Canada
MN to be funded from account 475-4415-7030 which includes $15,000.00 for
a Stump Grinder.
2. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to
execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by
this Resolution.
