CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7 : 30 p.m.
by Chairperson Wayne Burmeister.
ROLL CALL Commissioners present : Burmeister, Silvis,
Starr, Rowley, Anderson
Councilmembers present : Wuori and Quick
Staff present : Director Saarion
Visitors : Robert Carpenter, Gary Stevenson
• and Rod Melbo
APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Silvis ,
seconded by Commissioner Burmeister to approve
the March 25, 1988 minutes . Passed 5 ayes , 0
nayes .
AGENDA ADDITIONS NONE
CHAIRPERSON ' S REPORT Councilmembers Wuori and Quick reported on the
Harstad sub-division proposal and the Barr
Engineering task force . Also, a report was
given on a proposed sewer and water project
along Silver Lake Road between County Road H2
and Woodcrest Drive . There is a possibility
for the storm water sewer ditch development at
Woodcrest Park . This work could alleviate the
open ditches currently present on the south
and west sides of Woodcrest Park. County Road
I street development was also reviewed .

t1VCT REPORT Commissioner Silvis and Councilmember Wuori
reported that the MVCT board has been
interviewing for contracted positions and are
in the process of hiring . •
Director Saarion reported that Nick Temali and
David Groth agreed that the repair money for
theater floor and damage should be put into an
escrow fund to earn interest so that in years
to come the floor can be totally replaced
using such monies . The City would open a
savings program with both the City and
Irondale High School signatures required for
withdrawal .
Commissioner Silvis made a motion to move that
the City open escrow savings fund with $950. 00
for the replacement of Irondale High School
theater floor to be under joint signatures of
the City and Irondale High School . The motion
was seconded by Commissioner Starr. Motion
passed : 5 ayes , 0 ayes .
SILVER VIEW PARK Director Saarion reported on the meeting which •
was held with residents interested in the
Silver View pathway drainage concerns . Mr.
Boxrud reviewed the drainage evaluation and
explained that a woodchip path would not hinder
drainage if constructed as per his plan. Mr.
Boxrud will provide the City with a plan by
Monday, May 2 , 1988 .
Director Saarion and Mr. Boxrud along with his
crew will meet at Silver View Monday, April 25
to discuss plans for the pathway and parking
lot development . Director Saarion reviewed
Mr. Boxrud ' s suggested plans for proposed
water and sewer services at Silver View.

SPRING MAINTENANCE
PROJECTS Director Saarion reported on the past weeks
maintenance projects and projects which are
coming up. Projects included : Repair of park
buildings , Random landscaping , and ballfield
maintenance . Coming projects include signing ,
playground equipment installation at Hillview
and restroom enclosures .
Commissioner Anderson reported that the
bleacher backrests at Greenfield Park were
broken. These bleachers have been vandalized
repeatedly.
VACANCY INTERVIEWS The Commissioner interviewed three applicants
for the vacancy position on the Commission.
Chairperson Burmeister made a motion : Although
the Commission would like to recommend all
three applicants , the unanimous concensus is
to recommend Gary Stevenson for the position.
410 The motion was seconded by Commissioner
Silvis . Motion passed . 5 ayes , 0 nayes .
It was hoped that Robert Carpenter and Rod
Melbo remain active with the Commission
because their interest and contributions are
greatly needed and appreciated.
ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Silvis made a motion for
adjournment , seconded by Commissioner Starr.
Motion passed . 5 ayes , 0 nayes .
Meeting adjourned at 9 : 15 p.m.
