CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING OUT OF STATE TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR OFFICER AASE AND
OFFICER KAMMERER TO ATTEND A BALLISTIC SHIELD TRAINING COURSE IN
ALTOONA, IOWA.
WHEREAS, the ballistic shield training course is being held in Altoona, Iowa on
November 14-15, 2024, and;
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed employee feedback and officers have requested
out of state training, and;
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department is continuing to promote
training, networking, and professional development within the agency, and;
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department recently purchased a ballistic
shield and we need instructors to train the agency on the ballistic shield, and;
WHEREAS, this course is designed to teach various methods of ballistic shield
use during tactical clearing. This includes firearms drills with the shield and the use of
officer shield teams, and;
WHEREAS, the cost for both officers to attend the training and the hotel
accommodations costs are approximately $ 1,109.55.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota to authorize the out of state travel expenses
for Officer Aase and Officer Kammerer to attend a ballistic shield training course in
Altoona Iowa with an approximate cost of $ 1,109.55 from Account 480-4200-3630
(2023 Public Safety Aid money).
Adopted this 10th day of June 2024.
