• PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING
FOR THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
Thursday, October 22 , 1992
6: 30 p.m.
City Hall Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Chairperson Burmeister called the meeting to
order.
ROLL CALL: Member present: Chairperson Burmeister,
Commissioners Dentz, Trettel, Starr, Long,
Stevenson.
Commissioners absent: Silvis, with an excused
absence.
Staff present: Director Saarion
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES: Commissioner Dentz made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Long to approve the minutes of the
• September meeting. Motion passee, 6 ayes, 0
nayes.
GOLF COURSE
TASK FORCE
REPORT: Commissioner Stevenson reported that indications
show that the 18 hole course would provide for
greater revenues but also cost a lot more because
of the need to purchase property. The negotiation
for the cost of the property is necessary.
PARK PROJECTS: Director Saarion suggested that the Commission may
wish to approach the City Council to request that
monies designated for Lambert Park now be used for
other park projects or purchases. After
brainstorming a number of projects on the list of
things to do, it was suggested that two 9 hole
disc golf holes and one bridge for Silver View
Park be recommended for purchase. Director
Saarion will look into the exact prices.
Commissioner Stevenson made a motion seconded by
Commissioner Long that the Commission recommend to
the City Council the purchase of these park
amenities using the budgeted monies of
• approximately $12, 000. 00 originally earmarked for
Lambert Park. Motion passed 6 ayes, 0 nayes.
The Commission will be asked to present this
ill recommendation to the City Council at one of the
next future meetings.
NEXT MTG. : The next meeting will be held on Thursday,
December 3 , 1992 at 6: 30 p.m. at City Hall
Chambers.
ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Long made a motion, seconded by
Commissioner Dentz to adjourn the meeting. Motion
passed, 6 ayes, 0 nayes.
