HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 9957RESOLUTION 9957 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVAL OF A SERVICE CONTRACT FOR WITH KODIAK POWER SOLUTIONS FOR STANDBY EMERGENCY GENERATORS WHEREAS, the City owns three standby emergency generators which require more complicated and specific knowledge with preventative maintenance to allow reliable, efficient and safe operation while providing emergency power to City buildings including City Hall as designated as the Emergency Operation Center (EOC), the main water treatment plant, Public Works and the Sanitary Sewer lift stations; and WHEREAS, Public Works Staff can perform basic and some limited maintenance, City Staff is not trained and does not have the necessary credentials to perform the needed annual inspections and testing on these generators; and WHEREAS, Staff has received a quote from Kodiak Power Solutions as follows: City Hall / EOC Generator: Year 1: $670.00 annual Year 2: $704.00 annual Year 3: $740.00 annual Year 4: $775.00 annual Year 5: $815.00 annual Load Bank: $775.00 Sanitary Sewer Department Generators: Bronson Year 1: $495.00 annual Year 2: $521.00 annual Year 3: $545.00 annual Year 4: $575.00 annual Year 5: $605.00 annual Load Bank: $775.00 Groveland Year 1: $475.00 annual Year 2: $498.00 annual Year 3: $525.00 annual Year 4: $550.00 annual Year 5: $578.00 annual Load Bank: $775.00 Water Department Generator: Year 1: $1,097.00 annual Year 2: $1,152.00 annual Year 3: $1,210.00 annual Year 4: $1270.00 annual Year 5: $1,334.00 annual Load Testing: $980.00 The Mounds View Vision A Thriving Desirable Com unitY Resolution 9957 Continued Public Works: Year 1: $710.00 annual Year 2: $745.00 annual Year 3: $785.00 annual Year 4: $825.00 annual Year 5: $867.00 annual Load Testing: $825.00 WHEREAS, Staff, after careful consideration, is recommending Kodiak Power Solutions, to perform the annual inspection and maintenance on all City owned Standby / emergency generators; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: Approves the service agreement with Kodiak Power Solutions to perform annual inspections and maintenance to all City owned standby/emergency generators. 2. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. 3. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
