GREENFIELD PARK PUBLIC MEETING LONG TERM PLANS FOR CURRENT PARKLAND AND TRAILWAY NOTE: The Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners will be conducting a public meeting to discuss the long term plan for the parkland area and existing trailway located north of Oakwood Park and east / northeast of Greenfield Park. The Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission meeting will follow this public meeting. 1. Roll Call 2. Approval of minutes from the December 20, 2007 meeting. 3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners on issues of concern. 4. YMCA Update - Skating Rink Update… 5. Unfinished Business: Greenfield Park Pubic Meeting Notice – Notices for this meeting were published in the Bulletin and Sun Focus, posted at City Hall and on the City’s web site, included on Cable TV notice scroll, mailed directly to nearby properties (same area as disc golf notice), and added to the City’s electronic message board. Given the amount of public participation and discussions at the January 24th meeting, does the Commission wish to continue public input and discussions on this item? If so, public notice can be added to the next edition of the Mounds View Matters which is scheduled for delivery for March 1st and another pubic meeting scheduled for the March 27th Park and Recreation Meeting. In an effort to obtain public input, “Feedback“ forms were made available at the Greenfield Park meeting. The deadline for submitting these forms is February 22nd. These forms will be reviewed be the Park and Recreation Commission at their February 28th meeting. Also, based on discussions from the January 24th meeting, if there is addition information the Commission would like on any of the possible options, Staff could obtain this data and have it available at the March 27th meeting. Developing a Volunteer Coach of the Year award and naming it after Patrick “Homer” Holmes – Update: Naming of the award itself. Notification / publication of the award and application information. MVCC and area associations, Mounds View Matters…Possible schedule for 2009 Award: Article in Mounds View Matters January 1, 2009 Deadline for applications February 15, 2009 Commission reviews applications February 26, 2009 Council approves recommendation March 9, 2008 Award presented at Town Hall Meeting April 2009 6. New Business: Other New Business? 7. Commissioner/Staff Reports: Park Sign Replacement Program Update – The four signs that were budgeted in 2007 have been delivered. These were for: Silver View, Random, Hillview, and Groveland parks. Only the Hillview sign was installed before the fall freeze up. The remaining fours signs have been included in the 2008 budget. These are for: Lambert, Oakwood, Woodcrest and Greenfield. ALRC Biking Committee—Darren Peterson will be a representative for that committee. Next meeting is March 16th at the Roseville City Hall. Parks Promotional Video – Aukee will schedule a time to meet with VanAlstine to shoot hockey footage at Lambert and Hillview Parks. Any further discussion / update? Any Other Reports? 8.
