Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission Meeting Agenda <br /> September 28, 2008 <br />6:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />1. Call to Order 6:33 PM. Roll Call: <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from the Aug. 24, 2008 meeting. <br /> <br />3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners on issues of concern. <br /> <br />4. YMCA Update: Kirk Erickson or Pat Pringle <br /> a <br /> Fall Community event tentative for Oct. 4th. More info to come! <br /> <br />5. Unfinished Business: <br />a. Hillview Ball field- Grading has been started and should be completed in the next two weeks. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />b. Staff recommends that we continue with our maintenance type repairs and wait and see what the district accomplishes. We will be doing minor repairs to the trail surface and trimming <br /> around the plantings. (seedlings and established trees) <br /> <br />c. The proposals for the aerators has been received, they came in higher than expected, we will want to talk about this. <br /> <br /> <br />d. There was the suggestion of starting an “ADOPT-A-PARK” program. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />e. Off-leash dog park. Where could we put one in Mounds View? Oakwood, north of Hillview? Arden, behind compost? Oakwood north on Quincy along freeway? Need to fence, chip, and gate <br /> areas? Commissioners were encouraged to see Fridley dog park and tour suggested areas in MV before the meeting. Continue to discuss. Encourage residents to attend discussion. Can <br /> we put notice on City lighted board before next month’s meeting inviting interested residents to attend? <br /> <br />6. New Business: <br />a. Lambert building replacement fast tracked per city tour discussion. Report on Hillview and Groveland size and will it fit at Lambert?
