CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
ORDERING THE ABATEMENT OF HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS AT
8391 SPRING LAKE ROAD IN THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
WHEREAS, City officials received complaints from adjacent neighbor regarding
improper/unlawful storage of "junk" at 8391 Spring Lake Road in 2024 and prior; and
WHEREAS, based upon an investigation/inspection of the residence, it is
recommended that the hazard/junk be abated;
WHEREAS, staff provided written notice to the property owner on May 20, 2024
establishing a re -inspection to occur in June, 2024. A reinspection occurred and a
corrective letter was sent on July 25, 2024, advising failure to comply by August 29, 2024
would result in the City taking necessary action; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 463.161, and Mounds View City Code
91.003 Subd. C. 3 authorizes the governing body of any City or town to correct or remove
the hazardous conditions of any hazardous buildings or property.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council agrees
as follows:
The City of Mounds View finds that the property at 8391 Spring Lake Road in the
City of Mounds View is in violation of Code Section 91.003 Subd. C.3 — outside
piling/storage of junk.
2. The hazardous condition at the foregoing address constitutes a public nuisance
within the meaning of Minnesota Statutes.
3. An Abatement Order shall be served upon the property/property owners.
4. The City Attorney and City Prosecuting attorney are authorized to take all
necessary legal steps to secure compliance with the Order and to obtain
authority to remove the hazardous condition by court order or consent and
assess the costs thereof against the property
