HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 10054 - 2025/02/10RESOLUTION NO. 10054 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HIRE OF JOSEPH ULRICH TO THE PUBLIC WORKS LEAD STREETS & STORMWATER WORKER POSITION WHEREAS, upon direction from the Mounds View City Council and in accordance with the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit Labor Agreement, the Public Works Lead Streets & Stormwater Worker position was advertised internally for five (5) days, then posted externally for qualified candidates to apply; and, WHEREAS, Joseph Ulrich's work ethic, attitude, job skills, and 14+ years of municipal public works experience were determined to most closely match the requirements of the job description; and, WHEREAS, the hiring procedures consisted of an oral interview, pre -employment physical and drug testing, reference and background checks, and a hiring assessment conducted by an outside vendor, and; WHEREAS, Mr. Ulrich will be a member of the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit, and subject to the established job classification system with regard to the pay scale as set forth in the Public Works Labor Agreement; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Ulrich will begin employment as a Grade 6, Step 6 of the pay scale based on the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit Labor Agreement, which is $39.54 per hour; and, Grade 6 4% 3.75% 3.75% 3.75% 3.5% 3.25% 3% 2.75% Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Ste 9 $32.89 $34.21 $35.49 $36.82 $38.20 $39.54 $40.83 $42.05 $43.21 WHEREAS, Mr. Ulrich will begin employment on or around February 24, 2025; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Ulrich will be subject to an 18 month probationary period as stated in the Public Works Labor Agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does hereby approve the hire of Joseph Ulrich to the Lead Streets & Stormwater Worker Position within the Public Works Department, at Grade 6, Step 6 of the pay plan (currently $39.54/hour); an annual step increase based on successful job performance on the anniversary of his hire date; an 18 month probationary period; a vacation bank of 40 hours will be available at the start of employment, with vacation accumulating at the rate of 19 days per year, and after one year of employment vacation will increase to 20 days per year, after his 6th year of employment or year 2031, vacation will advance to 25 days of vacation accumulation; with employment to commence on or around February 24, 2025. is 10tt',4a�ary, 2025. ach in `trom, Mayor ATTEST: //" 1AX,_1j Nyle JAm6riftity Administrator (goal)
