MEETING IS CALLED TO ORDER 13 14 2. ROLL CALL: Linke, Quick, Marty, Stigney, and Gunn 15 16 3. Mayor Linke asked for questions and comments. None were given. 17 18 Marty/Gunn move to accept termination agreement. 19 20 Term Agreement Passes 4-1 with Councilmember Roger Stigney in opposition. 21 Councilmember Stigney stated that the reason for his opposition is that he feels that the ~2 termination is too expensive. 3 24 The Mayor asked for comments and questions regarding the RFP. Some discussion 25 ensued about minor changes to the RFP. They talked about a 30 day term clause, but 26 decided to stick with a 60 day term provision. It was questions on how to handle events 27 booked after 2004. 28 29 Mr. Dan Hall of the Mermaid suggested the RFP should be a permanent rather than an 30 Interim, but if it's an interim, a 20% booking fee should be given to the cateror for all 31 events. The interim management agreement can be drafted to address future bookings. 32 33 Councilmember Stigney asked why there is discussion about future bookings now. Dan 34 Hall suggested it was in everyone best interest. 35 36 Mr. Greg Waste discussed the possibility of a permanent agreement and stated that 37 $10,000 is a lot of money. On the 12th of November, Community Ed space is leased. 38 Mr. Waste expressed frustrations that he was not included in discussions earlier. He 39 talked about Internet wiring which was put into Community Ed space. 40 41 Aaron Backman addressed the Community Education space, and stated nothing is booked 42 and no agreements finalized. Internet access was installed in the Banquet Center for use ~3 by future tenants, but Community Education had service already. 4 45 Councilmember Stigney asked about potential for bookings. Mounds View City Council November 3, 2003 Work Session Meeting Page 2 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 • Aaron Backman indicated that the language about juggling dates was inputted by him, not anyone else, but it does not matter now that the language is being removed. Mayor Linke asked for motions in regard to the RFPs with changes to Items 3 and 12. Councilmember Gunn moved and Councilmember Marty Second. 4-0. Councilmember Stigney abstains; Councilmember Quick stated that Councilmember Stigney cannot abstain without Council Permission. Stigney changed his vote to "NO." Mayor Linke adjourned meeting at 10:42pm.
