Rcll Call Conmissioners present - Lhairman Burmeister, Commissioners Silvis, Scott, Linke, Fedor, and Weflen. Comnissioners absent - Conanissioners Coplin, Kuluvar, and Haake. Councilmember present - Louncilmember Ziebarth. Staff present - Director Anderson and Program Sup=rvisor Kvalheim. Etection of Commissioner Linke made a motion to reappoint Wayne Burmeister Offices as Chairperson. Commissioner Scott seconded the motion. Motion passed. 7 ayes 0 nays Chairperson Burmeister made a motion to reappoint Gordon Fedor as Vice-Chairperson. Commissioner Linke seconded the motion. Motion passed. 7 ayes 0 nays Comnissioner Scott made.a motion to appoint Commissioner Frank Silvis as Secretary. Commissioner Weflen seconded the motion. Motion passed. 7 ayes 0 nays Silver View Park Status Director Anderson reviewed the latest proposal update plan correspondence as received from Kraus/Anderson Inc. in regards to development and acquisition of Silver View Park. It was announced that the Silver View Park plan will be presented to the Planning Coimnission Wednesday, February 6. Atso, the City Council will meet with Kraus/Anderson Inc. Monday, February 11 for preliminary approval of the park proposal as presented. Film Viewing "Adventure Playgrounds", a film developed in England depicting the adventure ptayground philosophy and program format was shown to the Comnission. Discussion follawed regarding the � feasibility of such a pro9ram in Mounds Wew. � j January 25, 1980 Parks 8 Recreation Coemission Minutes Page 2 Planning Update: Uirector Anderson reviewed the survey as presented to the Park Comprehensive Comnission. Comnissioner Linke made a motion to approve the Plan survey and suggested that the survey be mailed as soon as -- . possible. Coimnissioner Silvis seconded the motion. Motion passed. 7 ayes • 0 nays Winter Program Update Park Maintenance Overvfew Staff Report Adjournment Director Anderson asked for direction from the Commission as Co the amount of involvement they wished to have regarding the survey. Comnissioner linke requested that 6ary Tushie be present aY future Park and Recreation Comnission meetings to provide project updates and information to Commissioners as requested. Rlso, the Commission wishes to be informed and give final approval un each step of the Parks and Open Space Study. Program Supervisor Kvalheini reviewed Winter Program activities. Director Anderson suggested that park maintenance activities be reviewed and discussed on a re9ular basis at Commission meetings. Director Rnderson reported that Pat Casci, Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department Secretar.y has resigned. The secretarial pusition is open for applications until Monday, January 28.
