APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Palm, 2nd by Bankston. Passed 6-0 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: January 23, 2025 -Motion to approve by Wake Wiesner, 2nd by Lundberg, Passed 6-0 5. SPECIAL .BUSINESS A. Joint Meeting with City Council — Review the Draft 2040 Park System Master Plan: See Plan by WSB. Lindstrom arrived 6:32 PM. Draft will be reviewed by neighboring communities before being passed on to Met Council as required by law. Presentation at Open House Meeting on Feb. 6, 2025 resulted in people putting stars on their priorities for each park and MVCC options. See attached report. 6. PUBLIC INPUT Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight's agenda. Before speaking, please give your full name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. Resident at 5231 Skiba Drive Thanks for shoveling the sidewalks. Concerned about the noise level at Hodges Park with the zip line. Too loud for neighbors to enjoy their backyards, and kids screaming and playing on the zip line at 2:00 AM. It is possible to move the zip line to a different park tha` is farther away from residents (i.e.Silve-iiiew). Request Staff to bring the number of police call to the park for zip line noise outside of park hours to March meeting. 7. STAFF REPORTS A. Parks and Recreation - Andy: See attached report. Full numbers for ice rinks will be available at March meeting. Rec-on-the-Go partnership with Arden Hills coming this summer to area parks each week with activities. B. Public Works —Pete: See attached report. Tree sale coming online March 1st. Signage will be provided to explain the upcoming buckthorn and deadfall removal at Silverview Park starting March 10. 8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. Fence quote for lacrosse field — Pete: Quote for Silverview Park fencing. 6' tall=$5600, 8' tall= $6100, 10' tall =$7400 All options are 9 gauge galvanized chainlink $1500 2' x 134' long. Goals are 6' high, so we would need the fencing higher than that. Motion by Palm, 2nd by Bankston to recommend to Council to move forward with the 10' fencing and concrete base not to exceed $1 OK. Motion passed 6-0 9. NEW BUSINESS - NONE 10. COMMISSIONER REPORTS: KnightKrawler Robotics Team 2052 starts their season tomorrow in Duluth. IHS girls' basketball beat MV in first round. 11. Building & Operations Lambert: • Adjusted door frame and lock for exterior door to hockey nets. • Deep cleaned fridge. Pulled fridge out and cleaned coils and floor underneath. Changed air filter for furnace Hodges: • Deep cleaned fridge and coils for fridge. • Deep cleaned kitchenette • Cleaned up high window sills (Removed bugs and dust) • Cleaned ceiling fans and removed balloon string tangled in the fans. • Changed air filter for furnace. (2 fuiltime Park Workers, no Arborist and 0 seasonal workers) worked on the following items since March 1st, 2025. Parks Maintenance • Picked up ice rink matting • Snow removal / plowing 1- Public Works office: remodeling, painting, moving furniture, setting up furniture, cleaning, hole filling, door painting ect. - Trash and litter pickup, Mondays and Fridays Assisted utility division with camera van training • Community Garden post replacements, fabric replacement and tree trimming • Annual playground inspections completed, parts ordered Forestry Staff worked on the following items this last month: • Resident phone consults and site visits, (Responding to a several calls a week, many private resident diseased tree removals left from the 2024 marking) • Contractor meets and calls • Arborist interviews • Burning of brush pile at Silverview Park • Tree sale- not doing so well, around 80 trees left for purchase • Taking several calls and emails on Silverview Pond Project The following is the List of Parks and projects / maintenance activities ongoing or planned this year.
