CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE COST PROPOSAL FROM CORNERSTONE CONCRETE FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF THE CONCRETE SLAB FOR THE FITNESS COURT
WHEREAS, the City has submitted a Grant Application to National Fitness
Campaign (NFC) for participation in their 2025 initiative to install and activate Outdoor
Fitness CourtO in over 1000 municipalities and schools across the country; and
WHEREAS, the City will accept a $50,000 National Grant from the NFC Grant
Committee and Statewide Partners, and endeavor to provide a local match in the amount of
$50,000 from budgeted or internal funds within fiscal year 2025 to promote and implement a
free -to -the -public Outdoor Fitness Court@; and
WHEREAS, the Council believes joining the National Fitness Campaign is an
important step in building a healthier community, commits to funding/fundraising to
participate in NFC's 2025 Campaign, and will earn local and regional recognition as a
leader in providing accessible health and wellness infrastructure and programs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on May 5, 2025 approved Resolution 10099 for the
purchase and installation of the Fitness Court; and
WHEREAS, Staff received two proposals for the installation of the concrete pad:
D & S Concrete and Masonry for: $56,990.00
Cornerstone Concrete for: $55,290.00; and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends the Council approve the proposal from Cornerstone
Concrete to install the concrete pad for the Fitness Court at City Hall Park at a cost of
$55,290.00, and
WHEREAS, Staff further recommends the Council approves a 7% contingency of
$3,870.30 for any unforeseen issues that may arise during the installation of the concrete
pad.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds
View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. The Mounds View City Council approves of the cost proposal from Cornerstone
Concrete to install the concrete slab for the fitness court at a cost of $55,290.00.
2. The Mounds View City Council approves a 7% contingency of $3,870.30, for any
unforeseen issues that may arise during the installation of the concrete pad.
3. To be funded by the Special Projects Fund account 480-4360-7050.
4. The Mayor, City Administrator, and Director of Public Works/Parks and
Recreation are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate
documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution.

5. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized
and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or
convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
