CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING RELOCATION OF THE ZIPLINE EQUIPMENT FROM HODGES PARK TO
SILVER VIEW PARK
WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution 9502, on November 22, 2021, approving
a new playground for Hodges Park; and
WHEREAS, the new playground included a Zipline, a very popular amenity which has
brought in more park patrons; and
WHEREAS, since the Zipline was installed, its popularity recently has garnered mixed
feelings. While many of the park patrons have enjoyed the Zipline, property owners adjacent to
the park have recently raised concerns with the noise level, language and after park hours use;
and
WHEREAS, on May 22, 2025, the Park and Recreation and Forestry Commission
motioned to put the Zipline back up it back up at Hodges Park until it can be moved to Silver View
Park; and
WHEREAS, the Council after discussion moved to place the Zipline back up at least until
September and consider moving the equipment depending on costs; and
WHEREAS, Staff received a quote from MWP Recreation of Golden Valley, Minnesota for
the equipment, installation, concrete, and site preparation at a cost of $53,649.20 to move the
Zipline form Hodges Park to Silver View Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View,
Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. Approves the quote from MWP Recreation of Golden Valley MN for the cost of
$53,649.20.
2. To be funded by the Special Project Fund 480-4360-7030.
3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all
appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution.
4. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and
directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in
order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
