HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 10130 - 2025/07/14RESOLUTION 10130 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ADVISORY (SUB) COMMITTEE FOR THE PARK SYSTEM MASTER PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has many responsibilities to include efficiently operating and managing the entire Park system; and WHEREAS, The City Council Approved Resolution 10129 accepting the 2040 Park System Master Plan as presented by WSB; and WHEREAS, at the July 7, 2025 Work Session, Council directed Staff to create a subcommittee to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission; and WHEREAS, the Committee will meet during the evening and assist in potential funding options on how to implement the Parks System Master Plan and to also assist in raising awareness for the Park System Master Plan; and WHEREAS, Staff has developed the name for this Committee as GOAL Parks (GOAL: General Obligation and Levy); and WHEREAS, the Council requested that the committee have (1) representative from each neighborhood located in the areas of the following parks: 1) Groveland 2) Greenfield 3) Woodcrest 4) Hillview 5) Lambert 6) Silver View 7) Hodges 8) City Hall 9) Oakwood 10) Ardan To also include: • (2) Park and Recreation and Forestry Commission Liaisons - (1) one being the Chair of the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission. • (1) City Staff— Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation. WHEREAS, Staff recommends the City Council approve the resolution approving the creation of this Advisory Committee for the Parks Master Plan. Resolution 10130 Continued NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1) Staff recommends the Council approve the implementation of the sub advisory Committee, GOAL Parks, to assist the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission in establishing funding sources for the 2040 Parks Master Plan. Council further approves that Staff will advertise for Committee members via FB, website, newsletter and electronic message board. 2) The committee has (1) representative from each neighborhood located in the areas of the following parks: 1) Groveland 2) Greenfield 3) Woodcrest 4) Hillview 5) Lambert 6) Silver View 7) Hodges 8) City Hall 9) Oakwood 10) Ardan To also include: • (2) Park and Recreation and Forestry Commission Liaisons - (1) one being the Chair of the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission. • (1) City Staff— Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation. 3) Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
