CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING DRIVEWAY WING ALTERATIONS FOR DRIVEWAYS LESS THAN 12
FEET WIDE IN THE 2022/23 STREET PROJECT, AREA J
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution 9561 authorizing T.A. Schifsky &
Sons Inc. to perform the 2022-2023 Street Rehabilitation Project areas J & K; and
WHEREAS, Staff received concerns regarding the driveway openings on Spring
Lake Road, North of Mounds View Blvd because 21 of them were less than the 12 foot wide
City Code minimum; and
WHEREAS, Council chose on April 15, 2024, Special WS, to alter one (1) side of the
driveway to make the wing equal to the amount necessary to achieve a 12-foot-wide opening
at the gutter to assist in the ease of making right handed turns into these properties; and
WHEREAS, Staff has reached out to 3 concrete contractors and the cost information
will be provided at this meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds
View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. Accepts cost from Schmidt Curb Company, Inc. to alter driveway wings on one (1) side
of the opening at the gutter line which would then provide a driveway opening of 12 feet
at an estimated cost of $11,987.90.
2. The Director of Public Works is authorized to make approvals related to contract
modifications during construction of the Project on behalf of the City Council as per the
Purchasing Policy.
3. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and
directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in
order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
