STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING $24,000 FOR FOOD SHELF ASSISTANCE
WHEREAS, the City Council at their October 27, 2025, Council meeting and
November 3, 2025, workshop discussed food insecurity as a result of the federal
government shutdown resulting in a disruption of SNAP benefits; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of that discussion, individuals worked with Manna Market
to set up a drive -through food shelf on Sunday November 2, 2025, with 200+ families
being served; and,
WHEREAS, council discussed at the November workshop a desire and consensus
to provide $20,000 to help fund Ralph Reeder and $4,000 for Manna Market which will
provide a weekly Sunday drive -through food shelf through the end of the year; and,
WHEREAS, this is a non- budgeted item and an increase of $24,000 is needed for
the General Fund budget, account number 100-4700-3900.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mounds View City Council
approves $24,000 in food shelf assistance and an increase to the General Fund budget.
