RESOLUTION NO. 10204 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF MOUNDS <br />VIEW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT LABOR SERVICES, INC. (LELS) LOCAL NO. 204 <br />REGARDING <br />MULTI -LANGUAGE PAY <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View and Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc., Local <br />#204 are parties to a 2026 — 2028 labor agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, Officers who are tested and determined to be proficient in speaking a <br />language other than English, by a paid instructor of the City's choice, will be compensated an <br />additional $100 stipend per month; and <br />WHEREAS, Officers will be required to retest their multi -language skill every two years <br />to continue receiving the $100 per month stipend; and <br />WHEREAS, only two Officers will be eligible to receive the $100 per month stipend <br />during a contract cycle; and <br />WHEREAS, Officers are encouraged to learn multiple languages, however will be paid a <br />$100 maximum language stipend. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the parties agree to the policy as follows: <br />MULTI -LANGUAGE PAY: <br />Police Officers that can display a proficiency in a language other than English will be paid a $100 <br />per month stipend, limited to two Police Officers or Investigators.
