HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 10213 - 2026/02/23RESOLUTION 10213 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE PROPOSAL FROM PETERSON BROS. ROOFING FOR ROOF REPLACEMENT AT THE GROVELAND PARK BUILDING WHEREAS, in 2023 the City Council approved having Inspec perform inspections on all City building roofs to include repair and replacement recommendations for the Roof Management Program; and WHEREAS, Staff working with Garland Company LLC, reviewed the report and requested that they secure roof repair estimates; and WHEREAS, the Scope of the repair work will include the following: • Remove and discard all the existing roofing • Install new drip edge metal • Remove existing soffit panels and install new • Install new underlayment R-Mer Seal • Install new pipe boots and vent covers as needed • Install Timberline HDZ Shingles by GAF • Insure a watertight seal • Clean up and haul away debris. Clean up as needed WHEREAS, Garland Company received three estimates for the repair work, 1. Peterson Bros. Roofing $28,250.00 2. Berwald Roofing Company, Inc. $34,625.00 3. BL Dalsin Generation of Roofing $72,663.00; and WHEREAS, Staff recommend the City Council approve the proposal from Garland Company LLC. for the roof repairs to Groveland Park Building for a total of $28,250.00; and WHEREAS, Staff also recommend the Council approve a contingency of 7% or $1,977.50 for any unforeseen issues that may arise during the repair work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: Approves the proposal from Garland Company LLC. for roof repairs to the Groveland Park Shelter Building at a cost of $28,250.00. Resolution 10213 Continued 2. Council approves a contingency of 7% or $1,977.50 for any unforeseen issues that may arise during the repair work, for a total project cost not to exceed $30,227.50. 3. Funded from the Special Projects 2026 adopted budget account 480-4360- 7050 4. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. 5. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
