CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING A RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR THE POLICE INTERN POSITION
WHEREAS, Staff is requesting the City Council authorize approval of the Police
Intern Position, allowing Interns to work at the City for up to 16 weeks; and
WHEREAS, Interns would be compensated at a rate of $19.28 per hour, working
a flexible schedule between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the possibility of
some evening and weekend hours, and amenable to the student's college course
schedule; and
WHEREAS, staff will fill the Police Intern position as funding is available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
authorizes Staff to complete the following:
• Continue the Police Intern program for 2026
• Post the position and hire qualified Police Interns as funding is available
• Allow Interns to work 16 consecutive weeks
• Pay Interns $19.28/hour during their Internship
