• MOUNDS VIEW PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> Thursday, December 19, 1996 <br /> City Hall, Conf. Rm. C <br /> 6:30 p.m. <br /> This was a special meeting called for the specific purpose of selecting five appointments to serve <br /> on the Community Center Task Force along with the Parks and Recreation Commissioners. <br /> CALL TO ORDER: Chair Burmeister called the meeting to order. <br /> ROLL CALL: Members present included Chair Burmeister, <br /> Commissioners Silvis, Dentz, Long, Starr, <br /> and Gunn. <br /> SPECIAL BUSINESS: The business at hand was to review six applications for five <br /> appointments to the Community Center Task Force. The <br /> City Council directed the Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission to appointment three members at-large and <br /> two student appointments. After reviewing the applications, <br /> five appointments were selected. Commissioner Long made <br /> a motion seconded by Commissioner Silvis to appoint the <br /> following persons: Janet Bona, Phyllis Blanchard, Theresa <br /> Lexcen, Angie Winkel and Chad Daszkiewicz. Motion <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> MTG SCHEDULE: The Commission decided to meet as soon as <br /> possible and chose Thursday, January 2, 1997 for <br /> the first meeting. <br /> MTG AGENDA: After discussion, it was determined that the first <br /> meeting should formulate a recommended mission, <br /> objectives and potential users of the Community <br /> Center, along with potential revenue-producing <br /> uses. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS: Staff informed the Commission that Sharie Linke had turned <br /> in her resignation. The Commission suggested that staff <br /> make arrangements for a momento that they could present <br /> • to Sharie to commemorate all the years that they worked <br /> together with her on many community projects. <br />
