MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, December 19, 1996
City Hall, Conf. Rm. C
6:30 p.m.
This was a special meeting called for the specific purpose of selecting five appointments to serve
on the Community Center Task Force along with the Parks and Recreation Commissioners.
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Burmeister called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL: Members present included Chair Burmeister,
Commissioners Silvis, Dentz, Long, Starr,
and Gunn.
SPECIAL BUSINESS: The business at hand was to review six applications for five
appointments to the Community Center Task Force. The
City Council directed the Parks and Recreation
Commission to appointment three members at-large and
two student appointments. After reviewing the applications,
five appointments were selected. Commissioner Long made
a motion seconded by Commissioner Silvis to appoint the
following persons: Janet Bona, Phyllis Blanchard, Theresa
Lexcen, Angie Winkel and Chad Daszkiewicz. Motion
passed unanimously.
MTG SCHEDULE: The Commission decided to meet as soon as
possible and chose Thursday, January 2, 1997 for
the first meeting.
MTG AGENDA: After discussion, it was determined that the first
meeting should formulate a recommended mission,
objectives and potential users of the Community
Center, along with potential revenue-producing
uses.
OTHER BUSINESS: Staff informed the Commission that Sharie Linke had turned
in her resignation. The Commission suggested that staff
make arrangements for a momento that they could present
• to Sharie to commemorate all the years that they worked
together with her on many community projects.
ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Long made a motion seconded by
Commissioner Silvis to adjourn the meeting.
Motion passed unanimously.
