STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING A HONEYBEE -KEEPING LICENSE FOR
REBECCA PARZYCK, 2233 KNOLL DRIVE
WHEREAS, Chapter 90.0005(b) of the City Code, allows for the keeping of
honeybee hives on properties zoned R-1, Single Family Residential; and,
WHEREAS, Rebecca Parzyck has submitted a license application to keep
and raise honeybees on her daughter's (Summer Olson), property located at 2233
Knoll Drive; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with City Code, applications shall be considered
by the City Council after holding a public hearing, which was held May 26, 2026;
and
WHEREAS, Ms. Parzyck has paid the appropriate fees, provided the City
with an approved site plan and provided proof of adequate education in honeybee -
keeping; and
WHEREAS, the property owner, Summer Olson, has authorized the keeping of
honeybees on her property; and
WHEREAS, this license may be revoked or denied by the City Council
based on negligence or nuisance.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
does hereby approve a license for the keeping and raising of honeybees to
Rebecca Parzyck for the property located at 2233 Knoll Drive.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the license will be valid indefinitely
contingent upon the following:
�. Hive is in the rear yard and set back at least ten feet from the property
lines and the house and at least twenty-five feet from any public trail or
walkway.
2. No more than four hives are operating.
3. Hive opening shall face in toward subject property's backyard.

4. A clean water source is provided on the property.
5. Equipment is maintained in good condition in accordance with accepted
best management practices.
6. Unused beekeeping equipment is properly disposed of or stored indoors.
7. Hive is operated continuously.
8. Licensee shall respond to staff's request annually to validate that hive(s) are
still actively in use.
