RESOLUTION NO. 10254 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A HONEYBEE -KEEPING LICENSE FOR <br />GREGORY EVENSON, 2309 OAKWOOD DRIVE <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 90.0005(b) of the City Code, allows for the keeping of <br />honeybee hives on properties zoned R-1, Single Family Residential; and, <br />WHEREAS, Gregory Evenson has submitted a license application to keep <br />and raise honeybees on his property located at 2309 Oakwood Drive; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with City Code, applications shall be considered <br />by the City Council after holding a public hearing, which was held May 26, 2026; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Evenson has paid the appropriate fees, provided the City <br />with an approved site plan and provided proof of adequate education in honeybee - <br />keeping; and <br />WHEREAS, this license may be revoked or denied by the City Council <br />based on negligence or nuisance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />does hereby approve a license for the keeping and raising of honeybees to <br />Gregory Evenson for the property located at 2309 Oakwood Drive. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the license will be valid indefinitely <br />contingent upon the following: <br />1. Hive is located in the rear yard and set back at least ten feet from property <br />lines and the house and at least twenty-five feet from any public trail or <br />walkway. <br />2. No more than four hives are operating. <br />3. Hive opening shall face in toward subject property's backyard. <br />4. A clean water source is provided on the property. <br />5. Equipment is maintained in good condition in accordance with accepted <br />best management practices. <br />
