CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE PROMOTION OF MOLLY OLSON
TO THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved recruitment for the position of Police Officer in
the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, the approved hiring procedures consist of training and experience scoring,
oral interviews, physical agility testing, thorough background investigation, physical examination,
and psychological examination; and,
WHEREAS, a top candidate in the interview process was Community Service Officer Molly
Olson; and,
WHEREAS, staff of the Police Department have met with CSO Olson, and the Chief of
Police recommends that CSO Olson be promoted to the position of Police Officer; and,
WHEREAS, staff requests to promote CSO Olson to Police Officer at a starting wage of
75% top patrol rate.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds View,
Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby:
• Promote Community Service Officer Molly Olson to the position of Police.
• Anticipated promotional date August 17, 2026.
• Wage at the 75% top patrol rate of pay ($38.24/hour) as indicated in the Law
Enforcement Labor Services contract/
• Pay a one-time hiring bonus of $3,000 (half after FTO and half on one-year Police
Officer anniversary) A
