CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A $5,000 DONATION FROM THE
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW'S CHARITABLE GAMBLING FUND TO THE
COMMUNITY SUPPORT CENTER IN NEW BRIGHTON
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View maintains a Charitable Gambling Fund to
support community -based programs and services that enhance the well-being of
residents; and
WHEREAS, the Community Support Center (CSC), located in New Brighton,
serves residents throughout the area, including those in Mounds View, by providing
early financial intervention, counseling, and support designed to prevent homelessness;
and
WHEREAS, CSC operates in a strictly secular manner and is funded entirely
through donations from churches, individuals, community organizations, and local
businesses; and
WHEREAS, the organization was originally founded through collaboration among
several local area churches seeking to respond to the needs of community members
facing financial crisis; and
WHEREAS, CSC's mission aligns with the City of Mounds View's commitment to
supporting vulnerable residents and strengthening community stability; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a donation to CSC is in the public interest
and is an appropriate use of charitable gambling proceeds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
hereby approves a donation of $5,000 from the City's Charitable Gambling Fund to the
Community Support Center to support its homelessness -prevention services and
related community assistance programs.
