CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING PURCHASE OF WATER CONTROL VALVE FOR THE BOOSTER STATION
WHEREAS, one of the many responsibilities the Public Works Department is to provide
safe, clean drinking water to the City consumers in a reliable and efficient manner; and
WHEREAS, (1) one 12-inch control valve located in the Booster Station requires
replacement to provide reliable and efficient pressure in the water system; and
WHEREAS, Staff obtained a quote from Kodru Mooney of Jordan, Minnesota for a 12-
inch control valve at a cost of $37,094.00 including freight; and
WHEREAS, Staff obtained a quote from Municipal Builders Inc of Andover, MN to install
the new 12-inch valve, for $6,500.00; and
WHEREAS, the adopted 2026 budget does not include this purchase in the Water
Enterprise Fund 700-4823-5150.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View,
Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
The purchase of (1) one water control valve Ross Valve — ACAV-DLS-SOL; 12" model
50 RWR Control and Check Valve is hereby authorized for $37,094.00, including
freight, from Kodru Mooney.
2. Authorizing Municipal Builders, Inc, to remove the existing 12-inch valve and install
the new valve at a quote of $6,500.00
3. Monies for said purchase will be funded from the Water Enterprise Fund, 700-4823-
5150, including a 5% contingency of $2,179.70, for a total amount of $45,773.70.
