City Council Regular Meeting Minutes February 23, 2010 Page 2 V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF. None. VI. GENERAL BUSINESS OF COUNCIL. A. 2010 Goals Presentation. Richard Fursman, Global Synergy Group, LLC, presenting- 9 resenting 9 Mr. Richard Fursman, Global Synergy Group, LLC, provided a presentation on the City of St. 10 Anthony Village 2010 Strategic Plan, focusing on the following information: 11 • Mission Statement and Visioning 12 • 2009 Goals and Actions Review 13 • SWOC (Strengths) 14 • SWOC (Weaknesses) 15 • SWOC (Opportunities) 16 • SWOC (Challenges) 17 • 2010 Tasks 18 • Building Goals from Tasks 19 • Matching Goals with Strategic Directions 20 21 Councilmember Stille verified with Assistant City Manager Moore -Sykes that the above 22 document will be available to the public on the City website. He suggested when individuals 23 review the information that they focus on the summary included on the last page of the document 24 which lays out how the tasks the City is trying to accomplish fit into the goals, vision and 25 mission statement. 26 27 Mayor Faust commented that there was quite a discussion over the issue of changing the 28 category of "senior transition" to "generational transitions". He explained the need to encompass 29 the entire population, which seniors are part of. He noted there has been an expanded use of 30 Home Health Services, which is generally for seniors, the H1N1 clinic was held at city hall in 31 February, and sustainable housing is a generational senior programming issue. He thanked Mr. 32 Fursman, staff, and the City Council for the effort and the outcome with the strategic plan and 33 stated there has been excellent feedback from the League of Minnesota Cities. 34 35 Mr. Fursman thanked the City for the environment set with the strategic plan session that allows 36 the participants to get the issues on the table and explore every issue. 37 38 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Roth, to adopt the 2010 City of 39 St. Anthony Village Strategic Plan dated January 22, 2010 presented by Global Synergy Group. 40 41 Motion carried unanimously. 42 43 B. Resolution 10-021; Calling for Public Hearing on the Intension to Issue General 44 Obligation Street Reconstruction Plan Bonds and the Proposal to Adopt a Street 45 Reconstruction Plan Therefor.
