City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />June 22, 2010 <br />Page 6 <br />1 • Chamber of Commerce luncheon on June 15, 2010 with Dick Day present. <br />2 • Upcoming meeting in Minneapolis on June 30w regarding their 311 system. <br />3 • The Police Department received camera grants for squads <br />4 • The Fire Department is applying for a Homeland Security grant for the warning siren at <br />5 Central Park. <br />6 • Farmers Market starts July 12`n with Environmental Month beginning July 19`n. <br />7 • The City received the Minnesota Twins Grant for $6,250 for fencing at the Girls Softball <br />8 Field. <br />9 • Road projects are progressing as planned. <br />10 • I -HOP proposal at Bakers Square site. <br />11 • Absentee voting begins Friday, June 25, 2010 for the State Primary Election that is going <br />12 to be held on August 10`n <br />13 <br />14 Councilmember Gray stated he has heard there were six communities in northern Minnesota <br />15 where the weather sirens did not go off the other day due to a software glitch. He requested that <br />16 City Manager Mornson inquire with Police Chief Ohl about the City's risk in this area. <br />17 <br />18 Councilmember Stille: No report. <br />19 <br />20 Councilmember Gray reported on his attendance at the June 13, 2010 Sister City meeting. The <br />21 dance group will be arriving July 30, 2010 and will perform on Saturday, August 7th at Village <br />22 Fest. Plans are proceeding well for Village Fest. <br />23 <br />24 Councilmember Jenson: No report. <br />25 <br />26 Councilmember Roth: No report. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Faust: No report. <br />29 <br />30 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />31 <br />32 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />33 are not on the regular agenda. <br />34 <br />35 Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. <br />36 <br />37 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br />38 <br />39 Mayor Faust announced he sent an email to the Mayor of Wadena offering the City's help if <br />40 assistance is needed following the recent tornado in the community. <br />41 <br />42 The Council reached consensus to direct staff to cancel the July 13, 2010 City Council meeting. <br />43 <br />44 X. ADJOURNMENT. <br />45 <br />46 Mayor Faust adjourned the meeting at 7:57 p.m. <br />
