City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />September 14, 2010 <br />Page 5 <br />1 • Sealcoating of several city streets was completed last week. <br />2 • Inventory Control System was completed in the liquor stores in August. <br />3 • Security System will be completed by the end of September. <br />4 • September 25, 2010 @ 5 p.m. — Battle of the Badges: Police vs. Fire Department softball <br />5 game to raise money for muscular dystrophy. <br />6 • October 9, 2010 — Market Place Liquor Store will be conducting a micro/specialty beer <br />7 day. <br />8 • Attendance at the following meetings on Thursday, September 9`h: 1) Metro Area <br />9 Managers Meeting — Bill Lester, Executive Director of Metropolitan Sports Facilities <br />10 Commission was present; 2) TIF Task Force Meeting — League of Minnesota Cities <br />11 conducted by Jennifer O'Rourke; 3) Ramsey County Administrators Meeting — Update <br />12 on Ramsey County activities. <br />13 • Hennepin County Ambulance will return to MFD Station 15 effective Monday, <br />14 September 13, 2010. <br />15 <br />16 Councilmember Stille: No report. <br />17 <br />18 Councilmember Gray: No report. <br />19 <br />20 Councilmember Jenson reported on his attendance at the August 30, 2010 City Council work <br />21 session with department heads and the September 9, 2010 St. Anthony Northwest Community <br />22 Service Advisory Committee Meeting with discussion on the 2009/2010 Budget. <br />23 <br />24 Councilmember Roth reported on his attendance at the September 2, 2010 North Suburban Cable <br />25 Commission Meeting. <br />26 <br />27 Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the following events: <br />28 • August 30, 2010 City Council Work Session which included discussion on the 2011 <br />29 Budget and the Phase III Redevelopment Agreement with Apache Redevelopment, LLC. <br />30 • September 1, 2010 Middle Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) <br />31 Executive Board Meeting. <br />32 • September 14, 2010 monitoring session at the Mississippi River conducted by the <br />33 MWMO. <br />34 • September 14, 2010 MWMO Board Meeting. It has been determined that the <br />35 organization will be able to accomplish what it intended with the new building at the 25 <br />36 foot setback approved by the Minneapolis Planning and Zoning Commission. The <br />37 MWMO Executive Director has been directed to execute bids for the new building on the <br />38 site. As a result of the MWMO's setback request the Minneapolis Planning and Zoning <br />39 Commission has set up a committee to look into how the city's ordinances could be <br />40 attuned to being more environmentally friendly. <br />41 <br />42 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />45 are not on the regular agenda. <br />46 <br />
