If they were to handle it would take a much longer period of time . Mayor Faust <br />stated there may be other ways to recoup a portion of the $30 ,000. Councilmember Roth stated <br />he feels they should be able to move quickly. Councilmember Roth stated in the past whenever <br />there was a road repair project the Rice Creek Watershed District seems to try to cause problems <br />in the City. <br />Mayor Faust stated it is very important to remain partners with them as they have not been asked <br />to participate. Councilmember Roth apologized publicly to the Rice Creek Watershed District. <br />Councilmember lenson asked if there were other options that were complimentary to the long <br />term solution. Mr. Hubmer stated many of the other options are complimentary such as flood- <br />proofing. <br />Mr. Robert Lundeen, 39th and FordumlShamrock area. He asked which houses flooded in that <br />area. Mr. Hubmer stated would a pond be put in like what was done on Stins on. Mr. Lundeen <br />asked how old the storm system is and Mr. Hubmer stated it was built in the turn of the century. <br />Mr. Lundeen asked if the area where the house was removed still floods and Mr. Hubmer stated <br />it does and the house was removed due to recurring flooding of the house. <br />Mr. Mike Alunann 4062 Foss Road. Mr. Ahmann thanked Mr. Hubmer for his help to Mirror <br />Lake Townhomes. He encouraged Council to help solve the flooding problem. He suggested <br />option 5 be considered. Mayor Faust asked if option 5 could be started this year and Mr. <br />Hubmer stated it would not begin this year. <br />Councilmember Gray asked about the option of lowering Mirror Lake and getting the DNR <br />permits. Mr. Hubmer stated there are some jurisdictional issues that need to be addressed. There <br />is a possibility is can be undesignated as a DNR water. <br />Mayor Faust stated caution needs to be taken to ensure regulations are followed. <br />Mr. Mike Ahmann stated last fall Mirror Lake was lowered I Y, feet and there still was flooding. <br />Ms. Debra Larson stated she shares some concerns with Councilmember Roth about Rice Creek <br />Watershed District. Due to the flooding she was unable to live in her home for 6 months and the <br />cost for remodeling was $30 ,000. She asked the Rice Creek Watershed District to do the right <br />thing and do it quickly. <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray , to adopt Resolution 12- <br />050 ; Accepting luly 2012 Flood Investigation and Stormwater Modeling Report with the cost <br />modification as indicated. <br />B. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution 12-051; Authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to Enter into an Agreement <br />with Rice Creek Watershed District.
