Background <br />The Applicant wishes to install a stationary electronic sign for the display of gas prices at the St. <br />Anthony Mobil store located at 2801 Kenzie Terrace as shown in Exhibit B: Applicant's Application. <br />Chapter 155.22.8.20: Prohibited Signs of the Zoning Ordinance states that the following signs are <br />prohibited: "Electronic message signs. Electronic message or changeable copy signs except public <br />service signs in the Recreational Open Space District located on property that is owned by the city or <br />Independent School District No. 282." <br />Requests to modify this language in the Zoning Ordinance to allow electronic message signs have <br />been received and heard in the past, but have historically been denied by the City Council. <br />
