1 the sign closer to the signaled entrance and recommended the same to <br />Burger King. <br />3 Council Action <br />4 Motion by Enrooth, seconded by Marks to grant the necessary variance to <br />5 the City Sign Ordinance which would allow the signage proposed by Apache <br />6 management on the south and east walls of the proposed Burger King <br />7 Restaurant building as well as the 6 foot X 6 foot monument sign Apache <br />8 had agreed to locate on the north side of the signalized 39th Avenue <br />9 entrance to the shopping center. The Silver Lake Road sign is to be <br />10 mounted on a concrete base which can be no higher than two feet above <br />11 grade and staff is authorized to work out its exact location with the <br />12 center owners. <br />13 Motion carried unanimousl <br />14 That vote prompted Commissioner Hansen to warn the Council that they <br />15 "should be ready to consider requests for a lot more signage along <br />16 Silver Lake Road." Councilmember Enrooth told him that if that <br />17 happened, each request would have to be looked at individually in light <br />18 of its own merits. <br />19 Motion by Marks, seconded by Enrooth to grant a conditional use permit <br />20 to the C. G. Rein Company to construct the free standing Burger King <br />21 Restaurant with a drive -up window proposed in the plans presented at the <br />22 Council's August 23, 1988 meeting, with that permit made subject to the <br />conditions in the City Zoning Ordinance for a "C" Commercial Zone and <br />.&4 limited to the hours of operation contained in the City Code. As <br />25 recommended by the Planning Commission, this permit would also be <br />26 subject to modification of the site plans to provide southbound access <br />27 onto the drive -up lane and, to prevent immediate access onto the north <br />28 service road, to extend the existing island between the site and that <br />29 roadway a minimum of 40 feet west without high landscaping, so <br />30 visibility for cars exiting the drive-through lane would be provided for <br />31 traffic on the service road. <br />32 <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />33 Waste Management Recommended by Recycling Task Force to Collect <br />34 Recyclable Materials Along With Regular Garbage Collections <br />35 The July 18th meeting notes for the above Advisory Committee had been <br />36 included in the Council agenda packet. The report included Task Force <br />37 comments on the Reuters operation as well as the reasons Waste <br />38 Management's was the one which the Task Force recommended be accepted <br />39 for the City's state mandated recycling efforts. <br />40 Lauren McClanahan. Keith Pearson, and Councilmember Enrooth discussed <br />41 the Task Force recommendation.
