I Motion by Enrooth, seconded by Marks to accept the low bids of <br />$2,735.00, $8,616.00, and $2,880.00 for three snow plows from Crysteel <br />3 Truck Equipment as recommended by the Public Works Director. <br />4 Motion carried unanimously. <br />5 New ATT Phone System to Connect City Hall. Police. Fire and Public Works <br />6 Mr. Childs reported Dick Buendorf, the summer administrative intern, <br />7 had done extensive research on the selection of a new, more efficient <br />8 phone system for the City offices. The agenda packet also contained a <br />9 memorandum from Mr. Buendorf regarding the City entrance sign to be <br />10 erected in Trillium Park. <br />11 His reasons for accepting the ATT proposal rather than those submitted <br />12 by U.S. West or Norstan were explored briefly with the City Manager, Mr. <br />13 Buendorf having left his internship position August 17th for foot - <br />14 ball practice with the Minnesota Gophers. <br />15 Council Action <br />16 Motion by Enrooth, seocnded by Marks to accept Mr. Buendorf's rec- <br />17 ommendation that the new phone system proposed by AT&T be adopted for <br />18 the City offices. <br />19 Voting on the motion: <br />J Aye: Enrooth, Marks, Ranallo. <br />21 Abstention: Sundland. <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />Motion carried. <br />25 Mr. BuendorfIsmemorandum advised the Council that the above sign <br />26 company had submitted the lowest bid for the blue "St. Anthony Village" <br />27 sign on an 8 foot tall X 14 foot wide white brick background proposed <br />28 to be erected in Trillium Park at the intersection of St. Anthony <br />29 Boulevard and Highway 88. <br />30 During the discussion which preceded the Council motion of approval, Mr. <br />31 Childs assured Councilmember Ranallo that there is about $8,000.00 in <br />32 the City's Beautification Fund, some of which could be used to replace <br />33 the trees along St. Anthony Boulevard. The Public Works Director is <br />34 preparing a plan for trees on the boulevard at this time. <br />35 Council Action <br />36 Motion by Ranallo, seconded by Marks (as a continuation of the efforts <br />7 to enhance St. Anthony's image and to improve the main entrance to our <br />16 <br />
