4 <br />1 REPORTS <br />2 COUNCIL <br />3 Councilmember Makowske Wants Ordinance Compliance to be Given Considera- <br />4 tion During Council's 1989 Goal Setting Session <br />5 The Councilmember drew attention to the November 2nd article in the <br />6 Northeaster which reported "sweeps" conducted throughout Minneapolis to <br />7 get unsightly property cleaned up. She said although she was not <br />8 advocating similar "sweeps" in St. Anthony and recognized it was <br />9 difficult to legislate cleanliness, she continued to think the concept <br />10 of keeping our City up was still important and was one the Council might <br />11 want to consider during that goal setting session. Her <br />recognition to Ramsey County for the <br />allocating Community Development Block <br />filtration plant was enthusiastically <br />staff members. <br />26 DEPARTMENTS AND COMMITTEES REPORTS <br />27 The following reports were ordered filed for information: <br />28 *Hance & LeVahn report of cases they had prosecuted for the City in <br />29 the Hennepin County District Court up to and including October 19, 1988; <br />30 *August, 1988 Financial Monthly Summary. <br />31 Liquor Manager to Provide Insight on Declining Liquor Revenues at Future <br />32 Council Meeting <br />33 The October Liquor Operations Summary prompted Councilmember Makowske <br />34 to indicate that she was still concerned that the City liquor revenues <br />35 continued to decrease percentage -wise from previous years. Councilmem- <br />36 ber Ranallo said he would like to hear about the promotions Mr. Nelson <br />37 was sponsoring to draw in more customers in view of a decline in sales <br />38 of almost $60,000.00 for the City's two off -sale operations. He asked <br />q9 the City Manager to survey other communities to find out if they were <br />also experiencing the same sort of decreases. Councilmember Enrooth <br />41 agreed that the Liquor Manager should be invited to appear before the <br />
