11 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 REPORTS <br />E <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />RESOLUTION 88-018 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, AND CITY MANAGER <br />AND FIRE CHIEF TO EXECUTE THE CAPITOL CITY <br />MUTUAL AID ASSOCIATION RECIPROCAL <br />FIRE SERVICE AGREEMENT <br />COUNCIL REPORTS <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />The Councilmember reported Bob Heinrich of Project Cleanup had made <br />several suggestions of what could be done about the first during the <br />question and answer period of the start of the meeting. She said she <br />had also found out that many other communities have included in their <br />surveys the question the Council had added to St. Anthony's survey to <br />ascertain the expectations of its citizens for providing social <br />services and that the response had been very mixed. <br />l9 Councilmember Makowske commented that although she had to miss the AMM <br />.0 meeting which had been scheduled for the same evening, she thought she <br />21 might have made up for her absence by proposing that Vern Peterson, <br />22 the AMM Executive Director be invited to speak at a future RCLLG <br />23 meeting. <br />24 Makowske and Fleming Attend National League of Cities Human Develop - <br />25 ment Policy Conference in St. Paul, Mav 20-21 <br />26 The Councilmember indicated she and the Chemical Health Environmental <br />27 Management representative, Dorothy Fleming, had attended different <br />28 workshops at the conference and would be making individual reports to <br />29 the Council on the sessions each had attended. <br />30 Child Care Session Conclusion Disputes St. Anthony Parent Opposition <br />31 to Fire Station in Parkview <br />32 Councilmember Ranallo, who had chaired a session on child care at the <br />33 Human Development Conference, reported he had been very surprised to <br />34 hear the conferees insist that child care centers had to be located as <br />35 close as possible to either fire or police facilities where first <br />36 responders would be trained in emergency medical techniques. He said <br />37 he found it quite ironic that there had been so much parent opposition <br />38 to having the City relocate the fire station into Parkview next to the <br />39 areas where child care programs are carried on. The Councilmember <br />40 indicated that when he had reported this opposition to the other <br />7 <br />
