BOARD OF REVIEW MINUTES
JUNE 1,1976
The Board of Review meeting was reconvened by Mayor Miedtke
at 7:35 P.M.
Present at roll call: Miedtke, Stauffer, Sauer
Absent: Haik, Sundland
Also present: Lekson, Fornell
Mayor Miedtke reviewed the recommendation of the City Assessor
concerning properties which were reappraised. The Assessor
found that upon reappraisal, all of the valuations increased;
however, to keep the valuations equitable, he recommended that
no change be made to the original 1976 appraisal.
Mr. Lenezuk of 3112 Roosevelt Street challenged the competence
of the City Assessor.
Mrs. Gray of 2508 33rd Avenue N.E. was concerned about rising
taxes and felt her valuation was too high for a vacant lot.
She used the land for a garden and wondered what was being done
for the elderly.
Mrs. Clark of 2816 30th Avenue N.E. came late and asked if any
properties were being reduced in valuation.
The Mayor explained the valuation procedure and said that all
properties were reappraised at a higher valuation but that the
City Assessor recommended no change.
Hearing no further comments the following motion was made:
Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to
accept the recommendation of the City Assessor that no properties
be increased in valuation from the initial 1976 valuation.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to
adjourn.
Motion carried unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 7:43 P.M.
Councilman Haik entered at 7:43 and the Council commenced work
on the proposed zoning ordinance at 8:00 P.M.
Jim Fornell, Acting Secy.
