endeavors should be sought to serve on the committee. <br />It was the consensus of the Council that in the future formal resig- <br />nations should be submitted to the Council member whose appointee <br />the person resigning had been or to the Council as a whole. <br />Motion by Councilman Stauffer and seconded by Councilman Haik to re- <br />gretfully accept the resignation of Earl Scott from the Human Relations <br />Committee and to direct that a Certificate of Appreciation be sent to <br />him for his fine service on the Committee. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Councilman Haik and seconded by Councilman Sauer to direct <br />that a letter be sent to all the present members of the Human Relations <br />Committee informing them of the resignation of Chairman Scott and of <br />the appointment of Jim Gahagan as temporary Chairman of the Committee. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />The following motion was made regarding the revised ordinance pertain- <br />ing to commercial parking lots which reflects the changes suggested by <br />the Council. <br />Motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to waive <br />further readings and adopt Ordinance 1976-009. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1976 - 009 <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO ZONING AND TO THE CONSTRUCTION, <br />MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF COMMERCIAL PARKING LOTS: <br />AMENDING SECTION 12 OF SECTION 300 OF THE 1973 CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES BY ADDING A NEW SUBDIVISION 13 THERETO <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilman Haik also expressed her concern with better enforcement of <br />other City regulations dealing with the disposal of trash in areas <br />other than parking lots. <br />Mr. Dulgar explained that the ordinance establishing responsibility <br />for the repair and maintenance of water pipes had been further revised <br />since its consideration at the August 24th meeting to include the <br />connection of pipes from commercial establishments to the public water <br />system.
