MEMORANDUM <br />To : <br />From: <br />Date: <br />WSB Project No. <br />Request : <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Honorable Mayor and City Cou ncil Members <br />Mark Casey, City Manager <br />Kelsey Johnson, AICP, City Planner <br />November 25, 2014 <br />City Council Regular Meeting for December 9, 2014 <br />02170-100 <br />Request for a Variance from the Required Front and Side Yard Setbacks in <br />O rd er to Construct a Ground Floor and Basement Addition on the Property <br />Located at 3635 Chelmsford Road <br />The Applicant's request for a variance to allow for the construction of a first story and basement <br />addition and located 7.2 -feet from the side property line is consistent with the intent of the Zoning <br />Ordinance and the City's Comprehensive Plan. Staff does, however, have some reservations about the <br />size of the addition (nearly doubling the li ving space of the home, and nearly doubling the length of the <br />bui lding wa ll along the non-conforming side lot line).
