• Maintaining acceptable service levels while being sensitive to increases in property taxes
remains the most significant challenge.
These factors were considered in preparing the City of St. Anthony, Minnesota's budget for the
2008 fiscal year.
In 2008, there were no increases in water and sewer rates. The revenue from water and sewer
operations totaled $1,615,721, which exceeded expenditures by $39,452 (2.5%). In the future,
rates will be changed to comply with the Minnesota Department of Resources mandate that
requires the sale of water be based on a Tiered Water Rate Structure that promotes the
conservation of usage. This rate structure will charge a higher rate for excessive usage. Upon
implementation, moving forward the annual increases for water, sewer and storm water charges
will be in an amount similar to the rate of inflation.
Requests for Information
This financial report is designed to provide a general overview of the City of St. Anthony,
Minnesota's finances for all those with an interest in the government's finances.
