Awards: The City of St. Anthony worked with the Middle Mississippi Watershed <br />Management Organization on a Water Re -Use Project which collects ground water run <br />off into a large holding tank that is used to irrigate Central Park. The City received <br />several awards for the project including: <br />1) ACEC - Minnesota Engineering Excellence Grand Award. <br />2) League of Minnesota Cities — City of Excellence Award. <br />(Population 5,000 —19,999) <br />3) MWPA —Project of the Year (Honorable Mention). <br />4) CEAM —Municipal Project of the Year (Honorable Mentions). <br />Grants: Each year, the City actively participates in Federal, State and County <br />administered grants. In 2009 the Police, Fire and Public Works Departments received a <br />variety of safety and training grants. A list of the 2009 public safety and recycling grants <br />includes: <br />A. Safe and Sober Grant — Alcohol Compliance Grant, <br />B. Operation Nite-Cap — Alcohol Compliance Grant. <br />C. State of Minnesota - Underage Alcohol Compliance Grant. <br />D. State and Federal Bullet Proof Vest Grant. <br />E. Minnesota Firefighter Disability Grant. <br />F. Minnesota Department of Labor — Public Works Safety Grant. <br />G. Metro Emergency Services Grant — Public Safety Grant. <br />H. Ramsey County — Score/Recycling Grant <br />Partnerships: The City partners with local businesses, civic organizations and the <br />Chamber of Commerce to provide a variety of community safety and education <br />programs. In 2009, the City continued to receive funding for the "Citizens Academy" <br />which provides alcohol awareness and safety training to our residents. <br />In addition, the City also received additional funding from local businesses to purchase <br />pagers for the Fire Department. <br />Acknowledgements: <br />The preparation of this report would not have been possible without the efficient and <br />dedicated services of the entire staff of the Finance Department.
