In 2011, funding from these sources totaled $162,497. Combining <br />this effort with previous years since 1999, the City has received $15,809,353, which, <br />based on a population of 8,226, represents $1,921.88 per resident. <br />Some recent on-going grants and applications include: the FEMA Grant for Fire <br />Department equipment; Ramsey County E -Citation Grant; Homeland Security Grant for <br />an Outdoor Warning Siren; to promote public safety and alcohol awareness the Police <br />Department continues to secure Safe and Sober Grant funding; a Metropolitan <br />Environmental Services Grant; a Middle Mississippi Management Organization Grant to <br />purchase an over -seeder and a partnership with the community to construct a Veterans <br />Memorial at 34`x' Avenue and Silver Lake Road. <br />
