Resolution 15-036; a Resolution Authorizing Participation in the 2015-2016 GreenCorp’s 9 Program. Mark Casey, City Manager, presenting. 10 11 City Manager Casey stated this resolution authorizes staff to submit an application to become a 12 GreenCorp host site for the 2015-2016 program year. He stated this program is part of the 13 AmeriCorp program coordinated by the Minnesota PCA and the City was awarded GreenCorp 14 member Nick Voss for the 2012-2013 and all compensation is handled through the AmeriCorp 15 program with no cost to the City other than providing office space and staff supervision. 16 17 Motion by Councilmember Brever, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve Resolution 18 15-036; a Resolution Authorizing Participation in the 2015-2016 GreenCorp Program. 19 20 Motion carried unanimously 21 22 F. First Quarter Goals Update. Mark Casey, City Manager, presenting. 23 24 City Manager Casey reported that the City’s organized collection began April 1st. He stated the 25 City conducted carp removal on Silver Lake on March 4th and a video of the carp removal is 26 available on the City’s website. He advised that Wellhead Phase 1 has been completed with 27 respect to the City’s source water access planning. He stated the 2015 street improvement 28 project was started in April. He reported that the City is working with a contractor to provide a 29 road reconstruction education event this summer. He advised the City Council tour of the City is 30 scheduled for May 19th. He stated that the Planning Commission is currently working on a solar 31 ordinance. He stated the City is working with Hamline “CityLabs” on the City’s code 32 enforcement program and will be presenting a recommendation to the City Council. He stated 33 the City’s website contains project updates and information sheets and was recently updated to 34 include the 2015 chip sealing program. He advised that the City will begin its shared building 35 inspection program with New Brighton on Friday, May 1st. 36 37 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. 38 39 City Manager Casey reported on the power outage last week and stated that the City’s 40 Emergency Operations Center was activated in order to coordinate efforts of all departments. He 41 commended all the staff for executing their duties in a flawless manner during this event. He 42 announced that organization collection began on April 1st and indicated that residents can click 43 on the organized collection section of the City’s website and view a cost comparison of the fees 44 and taxes for small, medium, and large containers. He encouraged residents to call City Hall or 45 their hauler if they notice any discrepancies in their bill. He stated the City’s website contains 46 information about the 2015 chip seal program including a project description and goals and 47 4
