Resolution 15-036; a Resolution Authorizing Participation in the 2015-2016 GreenCorp’s 9 <br />Program. Mark Casey, City Manager, presenting. 10 <br />11 <br />City Manager Casey stated this resolution authorizes staff to submit an application to become a 12 <br />GreenCorp host site for the 2015-2016 program year. He stated this program is part of the 13 <br />AmeriCorp program coordinated by the Minnesota PCA and the City was awarded GreenCorp 14 <br />member Nick Voss for the 2012-2013 and all compensation is handled through the AmeriCorp 15 <br />program with no cost to the City other than providing office space and staff supervision. 16 <br />17 <br />Motion by Councilmember Brever, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve Resolution 18 <br />15-036; a Resolution Authorizing Participation in the 2015-2016 GreenCorp Program. 19 <br />20 <br />Motion carried unanimously 21 <br />22 <br />F. First Quarter Goals Update. Mark Casey, City Manager, presenting. 23 <br />24 <br />City Manager Casey reported that the City’s organized collection began April 1st. He stated the 25 <br />City conducted carp removal on Silver Lake on March 4th and a video of the carp removal is 26 <br />available on the City’s website. He advised that Wellhead Phase 1 has been completed with 27 <br />respect to the City’s source water access planning. He stated the 2015 street improvement 28 <br />project was started in April. He reported that the City is working with a contractor to provide a 29 <br />road reconstruction education event this summer. He advised the City Council tour of the City is 30 <br />scheduled for May 19th. He stated that the Planning Commission is currently working on a solar 31 <br />ordinance. He stated the City is working with Hamline “CityLabs” on the City’s code 32 <br />enforcement program and will be presenting a recommendation to the City Council. He stated 33 <br />the City’s website contains project updates and information sheets and was recently updated to 34 <br />include the 2015 chip sealing program. He advised that the City will begin its shared building 35 <br />inspection program with New Brighton on Friday, May 1st. 36 <br />37 <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. 38 <br />39 <br />City Manager Casey reported on the power outage last week and stated that the City’s 40 <br />Emergency Operations Center was activated in order to coordinate efforts of all departments. He 41 <br />commended all the staff for executing their duties in a flawless manner during this event. He 42 <br />announced that organization collection began on April 1st and indicated that residents can click 43 <br />on the organized collection section of the City’s website and view a cost comparison of the fees 44 <br />and taxes for small, medium, and large containers. He encouraged residents to call City Hall or 45 <br />their hauler if they notice any discrepancies in their bill. He stated the City’s website contains 46 <br />information about the 2015 chip seal program including a project description and goals and 47 <br />4
