r <br /> CITY OF ST. ANTHONY REVISED <br /> . POLICE RESERVE <br /> BYLAWS <br /> Article I - Purposes and Objectives : <br /> 1. To assist any police officer, firefighter, civil defense personnel <br /> or other duly authorized City employee, official or agent in the <br /> performance of emergency services. <br /> 2 . To assist with crowd control activities, and park patrol duties, <br /> under the supervision of a regular, sworn police officer. <br /> 3. To conduct and participate in the crime prevention activities of <br /> the St. -Anthony Police Department. These acitivities will include, <br /> but are not limited to: <br /> a. education in public safety and crime prevention techniques; <br /> b. encouraging enrollment and participation in Operation <br /> Identification and Neighborhood Crime Watch; <br /> C. Conduction of premise security checks of residential and, non- <br /> residen'tial buildings within the community; and <br /> • d. public presentations and information dissemination on topics <br /> as approved by the Chief of Police. <br /> 4 . To perform other lawful functions as directed by the Chief of <br /> Police or his assigned supervisor. <br /> 5 . The principal purpose of the Reserve Police is to assist the <br /> regular Police in their duties . They are not to be used in place <br /> of regular Police Officers , but may assist regular Police Officers <br /> ' assigned to details such as , but not limited to, sporting everts , <br /> parades , funerals , special events that require traffic direction <br /> and control , and other local details. Under no circumstances <br /> shall Reserve Officers be assigned to any detail that requires <br /> the services of a state licensed regular Police Officer, without <br /> the explicit permission of the Chief of Police. <br /> Article II - Membership: <br /> Applicants must meet the following requirements : <br /> 1. The minimum age is 21 years or older, not.-to exceed age 60 at <br /> application. No Reservists shall serve upon attaining the age <br /> of 70 . <br /> 2 . Good driving record - no alcohol-related offenses , and must <br /> possess a valid driver ' s license. <br /> • 3 . Good physical condition as attested to by a doctor' s certification <br /> of health, to be paid for by the applicant. <br />
