i <br /> ANIMAL POUND CONTRACT <br /> i <br /> An Agreement made .by and between the! City of 51. A�% a r <br /> municipal corporation, . hereinafter called the City, and Dr. Keith <br /> Hedges doing business as the Brighton Veterinary Clinic, <br /> 2615 Mississippi Street, New Brighton, Minnesota, hereinafter <br /> referred. to_ as the Poundkeeper, <br /> for and 'in' consideration of the covenants and agreements herein <br /> contained, the parties agree as follows: <br /> 1 . That the Poundkeeper warrants that it has good and sufficient <br /> facilities for the impounding, ' keeping and care of dogs <br /> and cats which may be brought to. it by the City. <br /> 2 . That the Poundkeeper will receive, keep, board and care for, <br /> all animals entrusted to them by the City. <br /> 3 . That the Poundkeeper will receive and properly dispose' of' <br /> all dead animals delivered by, the City for a cost of lg//-() <br /> per animal. <br /> • 4 . The Poundkeeper shall train the City animal wardens in the <br /> safe and humane handling and apprehension of animals . <br /> a <br /> 5 . The Poundkeeper shall in all cases, except where deemed <br /> inappropriate by the Poundkeeper, administer distemper <br /> vaccine to all animals impounded and shall attend to the <br /> medical needs of all animals. The City shall pay to the <br /> Poundkeeper fifty percent (50%) of the costs incurred by <br /> reason of this paragraph. <br /> 6.. If any animal shall not be reclaimed by the owner within <br /> five (5) regular business days , as defined in MSA 35 .71 , <br /> the City shall have no. right or interest in such animal and <br /> the Poundkeeper may dispose of such animal in a proper and <br /> humane manner or in: accordance with the provisions of MSA <br /> 35 .71 , Sub. 3 . Animals which may have been impounded for <br /> the required five business days ' period may be sold to <br /> persons other thanthe owner upon payment of all fees due <br /> to the City. <br /> 7. The City shall pay to the Poundkeeper the sum of $S,CO <br /> per day for each dog boarded and 4V,00 r,Cr day for each cat <br /> boarded, but not to exceed seven days. The City shall <br /> pay the Poundkeeper - .:.. for each animal destroyed in <br /> a proper and humane manner.
