STAFF PIEETtNG NOTES <br /> • June 20, 1989 <br /> The meeting began at 10:15 A.M. Those present were Lee Entner, Ray <br /> Nelson, Larry Hamer, Connie Kroeplin, and Sue VanderHeyden. Don <br /> Hickerson was absent. <br /> Lee Entner <br /> 1. The fire station doors have been installed and are now up to <br /> the safety code. <br /> 2. The new computer is an asset to the department. <br /> 3. Chief Entner has submitted an article for the "Newsletter" <br /> concerning the need for additional volunteer firefighters. <br /> Larry Hamer <br /> 1. Jim Lorbeski's daughter was crowned Miss Fridley this week. <br /> 2. City street and zoning maps have been updated by the summer <br /> intern, Don Cokley. Mr. Cokley is a senior majoring in <br /> engineering at the University of Minnesota. His next task <br /> will be to map the locations of the gate valves and yard <br /> iboxes. <br /> 3. Work on the tennis courts will be completed before VillageFest <br /> (July 22nd) . The courts at Central Park are lighted by a <br /> timer which will turn the lights off at midnight. <br /> 4. Mr. Hamer will go to Milwaukee next week where the manlift <br /> will be installed on a City truck. <br /> 5. Because there is still a vibration problem at the Foss Road <br /> lift station (which is still being investigated) , the City <br /> Accountant has been holding all bills related to that project. <br /> Ray Nelson <br /> 1. The sign is up at the Stonehouse. Ms. VanderHeyden told Mr. <br /> Nelson she thinks the sign looks wonderful. <br /> 2. The Apache Wells Sports Bar and Grill is expected to open <br /> approximately August 1st. Dennis Cavanaugh is delighted with <br /> the sign's colors. Mr. Nelson indicated he has asked Mr. Soth <br /> to develop a lease between Larry Manning and the City for the <br /> food portion at Apache Wells. <br /> • <br />
