w <br /> M I N U T E S <br /> St. Anthony Chemical Abuse Information Committee <br /> February 3, 1983 - 7:00 P.M. <br /> St. Anthony .High School Library <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Evelyn Holthus, Jean Klosterman, Tom Lindskog, Barb Malrick, <br /> Joe Malrick and Jan Stroom. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. by President, Jean Klosterman. <br /> Tom Lindskog, our newest member to the committee from the City Council, was <br /> introduced. <br /> Jan Stroom read the minutes of the December 14th meeting which were approved <br /> as submitted to the committee. <br /> Our Treasurer, Karen Thoresen-Quinn, was not in attendance and, therefore, no <br /> treasurer's report was submitted. <br /> old Business: <br /> 1. Programs <br /> • 'Evelyn provided the committee with additional information regarding <br /> a Playhouse Drama that could be utilized in the middle and high school <br /> this coming year. This information was well received by the committee. <br /> The costs were determined to be approximately $500 to $600 for this <br /> group. <br /> A general discussion again ensued regarding the services of Bob Lurtsema <br /> providing presentations on Alternative Highs to the students at an <br /> approximate cost of. $750. <br /> The purchase or rental of movies is another consideration for presen- <br /> tation to smaller groups of students throughout the year at varying <br /> costs. <br /> 2. Literature <br /> Evelyn presented cost information obtained from Apache Print on a <br /> fold-out pamphlet to be used in St. Anthony Liquor Stores to be. <br /> specifically directed towards the responsible use of alcohol 'and <br /> the new Minnesota laws pertaining to drunk driving. It was determined <br /> that a "well done" pamphlet would cost approximately $400 for 2000 and <br /> could be distributed as well in the various professional offices and <br /> churches previosuly supplied with information on drug and alcohol use <br /> and abuse. <br /> • Marijuana booklets have been purchased for distribution in the <br /> community together with additional A.A. flyers. Several publications <br /> have been chosen to be purchased to restock the various distribution <br /> points. <br />
