Childs, City Manager <br /> SUMMARY 'DISCUSSION OF-SUBJEC : .. is is a request from Bill Flaherty to allow <br /> construction of a garage on the west side of his home located at- 3208 Rankin Road. <br /> .The addition would come within 7 feet of- the- property line , which is currently <br /> defined as the rear yard. and therefore a setback of 25' is required. You will note <br /> _ <br /> that-some-Years ago, an addition_was allowed on the rear of the house by a variance <br /> -wi-th-one-of-the-r-eason-s-be-i-ng-the-l-i-rge side yard on the south. <br /> ALTERNATIVES : - 3- <br /> RECOI<MENDATION: Staff recommends that a policy be set by the Commission as fol lows : <br /> ''On a corner lot , the narrow side shall be def.ined 'as the front yard and said front <br /> yard for Zoning Ordinance interpretation purposes should not be based on the place- <br /> ment of the front door of the house or the street address''.
