Agenda Item:' Reports-4a Status: Informational <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: August 23, 1984 <br /> TO: David Childs, City Manager <br /> Department Heads <br /> FROM: Connie Kroeplin, Administrative Secretary <br /> i SUBJECT: Staff Meeting Notes - August 22, 1984 <br /> The staff meeting began at 9:15 A.M. Those present were Don Hickerson, Carol <br /> Johnson, Lee Entner, Connie Kroeplin, Larry Hamer and Dave Childs. Ray Nelson <br /> was absent. <br /> A slide .show with sound track of the April 26th tornado has been prepared by Chief <br /> Entner. Time would not permit a showing during the staff meeting, but has been <br /> scheduled to be shown to the City Manager, department heads and staff on the <br /> day of the next staff meeting, as well as a future Council meeting. <br /> Jay Olson, the new full time firefighter will be introduced to the City Council <br /> and sworn in by the City Clerk at the Council 's August 28th meeting. The Fire <br /> Department has added four new reserves who will be invited to that meeting al.so. <br /> Carol Johnson will attend the Region IV City Clerks conference in Stillwater, <br /> Minnesota on August 24th. <br /> Larry Hamer said the Public Works mechanic has spent many hours trying to repair <br /> squad car, unit #2, and suggested a solution to retaining the use of more than one <br /> squad while the squad's problems are being analyzed. Chief Hickerson. indicated <br /> another of the squads is having electrical trouble. <br /> The City has been responsible for the Community Center's maintenance for the <br /> last couple of weeks there is noticeable improvement throughout the building. <br /> At the present time, the City has one full time, one temporary and one MEED <br /> person working from 12 midnight to 8 A.M. Tom McMullen, Community Services <br /> Director, has requested an additional man to work during the day for lunchroom <br /> cleanup. Mr. Hamer indicated the City does not intend to hire another person <br /> and will , instead, attempt to use a MEED employee, perhaps only during certain <br /> times during the day. <br /> Mr. Hamer also noted the bids for reroofing the reservoir will be presented for <br /> Council approval at their August 28th meeting. <br /> The Police Department is preparing to present a robbery seminar for Twin City <br /> Federal , Midwest Federal and City banks. Chief Nickerson indicated the robbery. <br /> suspect of Dahl Pharmacy has been apprehended. <br />
