The estimated assay of the CRF sludges, percent as metal., is shown in the <br /> following table: <br /> Cadmium 1.4 <br /> Chromium 2.8 <br /> Copper 5.3 or 5.4 <br /> Lead 0.4 or 0.5 <br /> Nickel 3.8 or 3.9 <br /> Zinc 1.6 to 1.9 <br /> This estimated assay ignores the following constituents which may also be <br /> present: sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, aluminum, iron, tin, fluoride, <br /> chloride, nitrate, phosphate, sulfate, and sulfide. It will not be possible to <br /> make an estimate of the -amounts of these constituents until late in the design <br /> process. Even -such an estimate should be verified by assays of the plant's <br /> sludge after start-up and shakedown because not all of the minor constituents in <br /> each bath of each shop will have been considered during design. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Edward J.
